Inspiration for healthy change

Change begins the moment we take the first step on the path – even if we don’t yet know where it leads.

Inspiration for a Healthy Change

On this page, I regularly share inspirations such as exercises, interesting articles, videos, and podcasts on the topics of health, mindfulness and leadership.

Today, we begin with the topic “The Intelligence of Our Body.”

You’ll find more about this topic on the website of the

Physical Intelligence Institute.

What Your Body Already Knows – And How You Can Use It

In the Western world, we still rely heavily on our intellect and logic – undoubtedly important. But our body also holds tremendous wisdom that we can access if we learn to listen to it. And more than that: we can consciously use our body’s potential – through movement, breath, and posture – to be more powerful, resilient, and present.

Body-based methods allow us to regulate our thoughts, emotions, and ultimately our actions. We feel, breathe, and move to cultivate clarity and inner strength.

Neuroscientific research shows that our thinking is inseparably linked to physical processes. Movement sharpens our cognitive performance and self-regulation. Through movement and deep breathing, we influence our body’s biochemistry – particularly hormones like cortisol, serotonin, and dopamine – thereby boosting our resilience and motivation.

Three Exercises That Can Positively Influence Your Biochemistry – and Your Life

The Kate Winslet Pose – Chest-Opening Stretch

Lift your chin, stretch your arms out to the sides and slightly back. Imagine a chain pulling your chest forward. Now breathe into your chest and upper abdomen. Close your eyes and take four deep breaths.

This posture stimulates the release of oxytocin, a hormone that enhances social bonding, interaction, and trust.

The Winner Pose – Strengthen Your Confidence

Open your arms wide, stretching out into the space around you. Take a broad, open stance with your feet and legs – like a starfish. Inhale deeply and exhale slowly.

This posture promotes self-confidence and risk tolerance by increasing the release of testosterone. You might recognize this pose from athletes celebrating a win. Interestingly, posture plays an important role in leadership. A 2010 study from Stanford University showed that people who take the lead in critical situations often use open, expansive body postures.

The Serotonin Twist – Boost Your Mood with Movement

Stand with your feet hip-width apart, let your arms hang loosely. Slowly twist your upper body to the right and left, stretching your side body. Keep your feet firmly planted on the ground, and let your arms swing gently with the movement.

This exercise stimulates the production of serotonin, a neurotransmitter that not only promotes well-being but also plays a role in the digestive system by activating peristalsis via the vagus nerve. Additionally, it helps regulate essential bodily functions such as appetite and sleep.

Include these exercises in your daily routine for 30 days. I’m curious to hear what you experience! I’d love to hear your feedback!
